Tenant Involvement |
|
 |
The
overall aim of tenant involvement is to provide opportunities for our
tenants to become involved and to ensure that their views are at the heart
of everything that we do.
Why should you become involved?
It will give you the chance to get involved in the management of your
home and community and the opportunity to influence and shape our future
services.
Do you need certain skills or will you have to give up lots of time?
No, what we really need are your views, opinions, ideas and comments.
Without these, how can we be sure that we are providing the services you
need? You can give as much or as little time as you like.
Here’s a taste of the various ways that you can become involved:
Tenant Compacts, Axiom 100 Club, Tenant Panel and Sounding Board
Sign-up for any of these and there are lots of things we may ask you to
get involved in - again the choice is yours. There is something to suit
everyone, and you can do as much or as little as you are comfortable with.
We always pay your travel expenses and provide pre-paid envelopes if we
ask you to send something back to us.
Telephone and Postal Surveys
We arrange a convenient time to call and will ask you a set of questions
about whichever service area we are reviewing. We may also send out questionnaires,
information about new policies or ask you to comment on proposed changes
to current services.
Focus Groups and one-off Hit Squads
We will ask you to come in to our office and meet other tenants and staff
to chat about a specific topic or service. The information we get from
these meetings help us to improve our services. Sometimes the group may
only meet once (known as a ‘Hit Squad’), other times it may
take longer and need to be more in-depth (a Focus Group).
We will cover any travel and other out of pocket expenses (i.e. childcare
costs), to enable you to attend meetings.
Random surveys are also undertaken regarding our repairs service and complaints
process and the feedback helps to influence our future service plans.
Neighbourhood Walkabouts and Drop-ins
We will hold these regularly and rotate these events throughout our housing
areas. Drop-in sessions will follow most Neighbourhood Walkabouts or take
place on an ad-hoc basis.
Our Welfare Rights Advisor will be on hand whenever possible to offer
confidential advice.
If you would like us to hold one of these events in your area, please
contact Dick Rawden, our Project Manager for Tenant Involvement on
01733 295524 or by email: richard.rawden@axiomha.org.uk
