Supported Housing
We aim to cater for a broad cross section of community needs, including people who as well as having accommodation problems, require additional support services in order to live independently. Axiom has a diverse range of this type of housing.

Homelessness

We own and manage Peterborough's night-shelter for single homeless people - The New Haven in Towler Street. This provides temporary overnight accommodation for people who might otherwise have nowhere else to stay. We have recently moved the night-shelter to this improved accommodation in order to respond to increased demand and it now caters for up to 17 people.

Refugee Support
The Cromwell Road Project is an eight bed shared living scheme, located close to Peterborough city centre, which provides a supportive, multi-cultural environment to refugees and asylum seekers with high social and support needs. Each resident has their own room and use of the facilities in the communal areas. We provide general support, counselling and advice to the residents and help to gain access to training, education and employment. We aim to help our residents prepare for independent living within the local community.

People with Mental Health Problems

Working closely with Peterborough City Council and the Health Authority we manage a number of Independent Living Schemes for people with long term and enduring mental health problems. Some schemes are in small group home settings, whilst others are slightly larger. The key to the success of these projects is the dedicated staff support given to each resident.

Young People
Foyers provide specialist accommodation for young single people in the 16 - 30 year age range. We now have four projects - The Foyer at Market Rasen, Paines Mill Foyer at St Neots, Wisbech Foyer and the Peterborough Foyer. They all offer good quality housing, but in addition, specialist staff are at hand to help residents make the important transition towards gaining independence. The young people who live in these projects have to agree to engage in employment, training or further education.

People With Learning Difficulties
Working in partnership with local Social Services, Axiom has developed a number of purposely designed housing projects in Cambridgeshire for people who have learning difficulties, for example South View. Our aim is to ensure that our clients are able to live in independent housing, but in a supported environment.
