Our sheltered housing schemes are purposely designed and consist
of self-contained flats or bungalows in a group setting. When vacancies
occur these properties are available at affordable rents to people
of retirement age who still wish to retain their independence. However,
they do have the advantage of an on-site scheme manager to offer support
if needed.
Our sheltered housing remains popular and most residents who live in
our schemes certainly enjoy good quality of life and are involved in
a range of social and other activities. We have schemes in the following
locations, and if you would like to visit to see the accommodation
and facilities, please contact the scheme manager direct. In November 2005, our Sheltered Housing service was awarded with the Centre for Sheltered Housing Studies (CHSH) Code of Practice. Since then the Centre has changed its name to the Centre for Housing & Support (CHS) and the accreditation has changed to the Code of Practice for Housing-related Support and the standards reviewed.
