General Needs

General Needs

We have a wide range of housing from smaller studio apartments for single people through to four bedroom houses for larger families. However, all applicants do need to know that demand nearly always exceeds supply and generally we have to wait for existing tenants to move on before we have vacancies.

Properties within Peterborough are let via a Choice Based Lettings scheme which was established in partnership with Cross Keys Homes, Minster General Housing Association, Nene Housing Society Limited and Peterborough City Council Housing Options.

This scheme provides a single route of access for social housing in Peterborough, it also maximises choice for home seekers and allows them to be involved in the process.

The scheme was implemented on 1 November 2005 and full details can be viewed at www.peterborough-homes.com

For properties outside the Peterborough area we still operate a points system to help us identify applicants with the greatest need or urgency for re-housing. Our allocations policy is designed to house first those people with the greatest need.

The first thing you need to do is look at our list of property locations.

A leaflet explaining how the Choice Based Lettings system will work is available by telephoning our Housing Options Team direct on 01733 742642.
