Kind hearted sheltered residents club together!

26 January 2010
Our wonderfully kind hearted residents from Martin Court, Sheltered Scheme in Werrington, Peterborough, raised a fantastic £255 for their chosen charity.

Due to the generosity of sheltered residents from Martin Court (Axiom's Sheltered Housing Scheme in Werrington, Peterborough) Guide Dogs for the Blind are now better off by £255.

The money was raised through a bonus ball competition, which is 50p a ball and the winner gets £20, the rest goes into a collection tin which grows over the year into a healthy fund for charity.

Secretary for the Peterborough Branch, Frances Green, was delighted to pick up the bumper cheque along with trainee guide dog, Olma.

Emma Aque, Scheme Manager at Martin Court, said:

"The residents choose a different charity each year; for 2009 they chose guide dogs for the blind".

"They have done really well as they always do and we asked Frances to come along to pick up the cheque this week".

Residents at Martin Court also pop their odd pennies into a collection tin and this money also goes towards their chosen charity.
