Improved efficiency and communications, plus confident staff really make a difference to our tenants and residents lives.
Axiom provides a broad range of quality, affordable rented housing for families, single and vulnerable people. To support Axiom's vision of 'Making a difference to people's lives', it is very committed to well trained staff and has invested in a programme of courses through Cambridge Regional College.
An ITQ training needs assessment was identified through the company's appraisal process and general reviews over a number of months. Over 60 staff have either completed, or are in the process, of undertaking a Level 2 ITQ up-skilling programme.
The programme concentrates on Word, Excel and Emails as well as the use of the internet. The programme is very flexible and is tailored to the individual's operational work.
Cambridge Regional College deliver the programme under the Government's fully funded Train to Gain programme. Each learner receives 1 to 1 training with group working where common issues are addressed.
Glynis Dent, Axiom Training Services Manager, said:
"The improvement in the use of IT skills across the Association has been significant. Some staff have made substantial improvements and have grown in confidence".
"The programme is ongoing and has improved our efficiency as well as providing our learners with personal satisfaction of achievement".
Angela Robinson, Communications Manager, added:
"The commitment of staff has been fantastic. As an Association who really want to make a difference to people's lives, it is important that we continually review our communications and training processes to support the needs of our staff and residents".
"Axiom is therefore very committed to ensuring that where necessary, staff are given the right tools to improve business efficiency as well as communications. By working together, real improvements can and are being seen".
