What a year for Future Focus!

4 December 2009
Future Focus is an initiative which was created to help those unemployed, to find employment, training or education.

This time last year the Market Rasen Mail reported on a new and exiting opportunity which was about to start in Market Rasen called 'Future Focus'.

The project was created to help unemployed individuals to find employment, training or education and was designed for anyone over the age of 19 who could use a helping hand.

The Future Focus project was been funded through the Lincolnshire County Council Local Authority Consortium as part of the ESF Co-financing programme.

The initiative consists of a series of 12 week programmes, requiring a one day a week attendance. Each programme focuses on exactly what the individual wants to achieve.

Support and guidance is offered on job search, interview skills, application and CV writing and computer skills to name just a few as well as help in applying for any extra benefits which individuals are entitled to. Funding is also available to assist with travel to and from interviews.

The Future Focus Project has now been running for a year and so far it has had some really fantastic results.

Twenty people have completed the Future Focus programme, ages have ranged anywhere from 19 years of age to the over 50's.

Out of this 20, a quarter have found work whilst they were on the project, another two have found work very shortly afterwards, six have entered onto further education or training and another five have improved their skills through volunteer placements.

The next two Future Focus programmes are due to start at the beginning of January 2010.

There are only four places on each programme so if you think you could benefit from this type of support please call Hannah on 01673 842700, text 07718 780246 or email hannah.taylor-dales@axiomha.org.uk.

It may be just what you are looking for!
