At a time when there is uncertainty in the employment market and competition is fierce, Axiom gives a helping hand to anyone over the age 19 years and who is currently unemployed.
When there is uncertainty in the employment market and competition is fierce for the few jobs available, a new project has been launched in Wisbech to help unemployed adults get back to work.
The project is being run from Wisbech Foyer Learning Centre in North Street and is open to anyone over the age of 19 and currently out of work. The course is FREE and is designed to help people find employment.
The programme runs for eight weeks and provides basic IT skills for use in the work place. For individuals who wish to seek employment, it will also help them create a CV, search on line for jobs and even assist with interview preparation. There will also be workshops to help build confidence, knowledge and experience.
The project is run daily from Monday to Thursday at Wisbech Foyer with an expert tutor to help put peoples best foot forward and get those first steps onto the employment ladder.
The project was set up in recognition of the changes to the employment market, especially in Wisbech and surrounding area where employment is more difficult to find. The programme offers support for those who wish to seek employment, or just get back to work.
Margaret Jessop, Learning Centre Tutor, who runs the programme from Wisbech Foyer said: This is an exciting opportunity for those people who are currently unemployed and need some help finding employment, but the best bit is that its totally free of charge.
Karen Prince, Learning Centre Manager, added: Although the programme does not lead to a recognised qualification it does provide a series of IT, job search, CV creation, interview techniques, presentation skills and also helps with communication and confidence. This is a great opportunity for people living in the Wisbech area and one I know will be successful.
The programme operates from Wisbech Foyer in North Street and the programme is currently up and running and will run through until the end of June.
