Bank Holiday Weekend Fun

7 September 2009
Young residents from Wisbech Foyer spent a day at Whitlingham Outdoor Centre in Norfolk.

Archery, canoeing and a feast of a picnic were enjoyed by a group of young residents who visited Whitlingham on Saturday over the very sunny bank holiday weekend.

Residents and staff from Wisbech Foyer decided to use funding they received under the Foyer Federation's Health Programme for a day of fun, exercise and new experiences.

In anticipation of the event, residents decided amongst themselves what two activities they wished to participate in; archery and canoeing came out on top.

Michael, a resident who attended, said

"It was a great day. The instructors were brilliant. Some of us went in two man Canadian canoes and other in single seater Kayaks."

"We all enjoyed ourselves very much; there was lots of splashing and some unintentional swimming going on!"

Sammie Jo added:

"We would like to thank Bob and Lesley Project Workers from The Foyer who came with us. It was really a good day".
