Market Rasen Foyer residents take on Grimbsy YMCA at football.
Young residents from Market Rasen Foyer were undeterred when they lost against their local Police Constabulary in June this year, they decided to arrange another match and chose the YMCA from Grimsby.
Through the help of relief staff, Jack Hannigan, the residents contacted Grimsby YMCA to ask if they would like to come to the Foyer for a match; the YMCA jumped at the chance and a date was immediately set.
As usual residents practiced like mad, mowed the pitch and re-painted the lines sparkling white in order that they would be fully prepared.
Unbelievably just one day before the match was due to start the YMCA advised that they were bringing two teams; thanks to Jack Hannigan and Lindsey Moulds (Project Manager) the Foyer pulled together a second team.
Lindsey Moulds, Project Manager, said:
"I was so proud of our two teams. We played two matches; winning one and losing one".
"The residents really enjoyed themselves and everyone thoroughly enjoyed a lovely buffet and drinks after the matches".
Hannah Taylor-Dales, Project Worker, added:
"I would like to thank Jack for helping to arrange such a great event. If anyone would like to take on our Foyer Residents at football, then please let us know".
