Learning Centres

Learning centres all have the same aim – to offer a holistic approach to developing individuals, enabling them to work towards leading successful and independent lives.

Friendly staff offer advice, training and support to individual learners and all are dedicated, experienced, fully qualified trainers.

Please view the individual Learning Centre leaflets below for information on who can access them. ALL resdients have access (age restrictions may apply), however, opening times vary; please check below for further information.

Axiom’s Foyers have well equipped Learning Centres offering a wide variety of courses. Computers with Internet access and a dedicated study area ensure a rewarding learning experience.

Paines Mill Foyer and Wisbech Foyer Learning Centres are open to both residents and people aged from the local community. Please check the leaflets below for any age restrictions.

Peterborough Foyer, the New Haven and Fair View Court are open to the residents. They are also open, by prior arrangment to people aged 16 and over from the local community.


Learndirect courses are offered to help individuals enhance or develop new skills. A variety of courses are available covering a range of topics and skill levels, such as word and number skills, life skills, work-based learning and IT skills. Specific courses are also available.


The City and Guilds Profile of Achievement is a life-skills programme aiming to recognise each step of learning and the acquisition of new skills. Modules assist learners in dealing with the demands of everyday life, providing the opportunity to develop literacy, numeracy, team-working, leadership and creative skills. The qualification outcome for this programme is City and Guilds 3791 Profile of Achievement. There are no entry pre-requisites for this qualification and access is open to everyone.
