Axiom recognises that its customers are individuals; by recognising this, we are able to provide better services. We aim to become a beacon for equality and diversity, but what does this mean?

Becoming a beacon means that we want to be a shining example to others. We want to show that we understand and are meeting the particular needs of all of our tenants and service users.

We want to ensure that our services work for everyone regardless of age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race and ethnicity, religion or belief, and transgender. These are called the seven strands of diversity.

We will:

• Be responsive to the diverse needs of the communities in which we work.
• Ensure that all our residents and service users have access to services and support appropriate to their individual needs.
• Ensure our staff recruitment and selection is directed at employing the best people appropriate to the diverse needs of our customers.
